Gov. Scott Touts Trip To Paris Air Show As Success

Governor Rick Scott recently came back from a week-long mission trip to the Paris Air Show, and he used the trip to work toward his goal of growing “Florida as a leader in aerospace.”

“We had a great trip and as you know, we’re number two in aviation jobs and aerospace jobs, and my goal is to become number one,” said Scott.

Governor Scott led about 80 companies, education officials, and economic development teams to Paris, France as part of a business and trade mission. While he was at the 50th Paris Air Show, Scott also made two job announcements.

“Vision System, a French company, is going to go into the Space Coast. That’s 40 jobs. We beat out Texas, Georgia, and North Carolina for that. So, that was a great announcement. ATR announced that they’re moving up to 40 jobs from Virginia to Florida. So, that’s another great announcement,” said Scott.

The Paris mission marks the ninth trip Scott has taken abroad. He plans to make another to Japan in the fall for a business development mission.
