Republicans Vie For Florida’s Second House District Tuesday

Six Republicans are vying for the seat Representative Clay Ford vacated when he lost his battle to cancer at the beginning of this year’s legislative session. Escambia County Elections Outreach coordinator, Sonya Daniel, encouraged voters to check online to see if they’re eligible to take part in the election.

“There will be some folks who should check online or give us a call here at the office to verify that they are one of the locations that can participate in the election because it is only open to those that live in House district two as well as it is open only to registered Republicans,” Daniel said.

One Democrat, Jeremy Lau has qualified for the race.  The winner of the primary will face off against him in a special election in June.
