Daily News Digest   4/23/2012:

The state’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year features more state government employee layoffs, and another round of reduced retirement contributions. The move comes after last year’s mandated thee-percent contributions.

Also in the budget is money for the University of South Florida, mainly dollars to help the new Florida Polytechnic University get started.
