Tallahassee, FL – Late Night Talk Show Host Jimmy Kimmel recently did a monologue on his show, making fun of a Florida bill to reverse the ban on dwarf tossing. As Sascha Cordner reports, the sponsor of the legislation is firing back with a message of his own.

In a recent video message, Republican Representative Ritch Workman of Stuart says he wants to set the record straight regarding his bill to repeal the ban on dwarf tossing. He says talk show host Jimmy Kimmel gave the wrong impression with what he intends to do with the proposal:

"Even if this ban is repealed by me, I hope no one ever hires a little person in this state again to perform at a bar, but it doesn't mean it should be an illegal activity. If it needs to be ban, it has to be banned on the local level, that's the way Government works."

Workman says he's tired of Big Brother Government stepping in when it's not a state government matter. But, former Democratic Senator Al Lawson, who pushed for the ban on dwarf tossing in 1989, says if the bill comes up during next session, he will go before lawmakers and speak against it.
