Tallahassee, FL – Gov. Rick Scott promoted his economic development plan during an appearance on C-Span s Washington Journal Friday morning. James Call reports while taking a question from an unemployed Hernando County caller, Scott explained how he intends to get Florida to work.
An out-of-work corrections officer from Spring Hill initiated a discussion on how to bring new jobs to the state. Scott said elected officials need to let businesses know they are welcomed and to get government regulations out of the way.
"We're going to eliminate about 1100 regulations this year. That we don't need that maybe they were good 20 years ago but they are not things we need now they are just killing jobs. So everyday I call on companies in Florida and around the world to say what, what are you needs?"
The governor fielded questions from callers and e-mailers for about a half hour.
