Tallahassee, FL – Governor Rick Scott says experts are predicting as many as 18-named storms for this upcoming 2011 Atlantic Hurricane Season. As Sascha Cordner reports, Scott along with Division of Emergency Management Director Bryan Koon urged preparedness at the State's Emergency Operations Center on Monday.

Scott says Florida is the most Hurricane prone-state in the country, and he wants to remind Florida residents of the importance of having an emergency preparedness plan on hand.

"Remember that it is important to get at least three days worth of necessary supplies to ensure that you and your families' basic needs can be met immediately following a disaster Make necessary arrangements for any pets you have ahead of time and be certain to have a supply of any pertinent medications you may need."

Scott says in the event of a Hurricane, residents should already have batteries, radios, flash lights, canned goods, and bottled water. Florida's Hurricane Season starts on June first.
