Tallahassee, FL – The newly elected Commissioner of Agriculture is speaking out about his primary goals. TaRhaun Russ reports.
A crowd of people, interested in policy, came together for lunch during the Capital Tiger Bay Club Meeting. Guest speaker and Agriculture Commissioner, Adam Putnam, told the group his biggest long term issue boils down to water.
"Because it will drive every discussion, whether you want to plant an orange grove, build a sub-division, recruit a high-tech manufacturing or clean energy facility, or restore the natural flow to the everglades."
Putnam says he wants to continue seeing rural communities like Cottondale grow without their character being changed. He says he's happy to see many rural areas around the state making wood pellets and exporting them to Europe.
