Tallahassee, FL – An anti-bullying campaign was launched in Tallahassee Tuesday night with the screening of a documentary called "Bullied." Gina Jordan reports.
The 40 minute film, which is available to schools for free, was made for the Southern Poverty Law Center's teaching tolerance program. Filmmaker Bill Brummel was in Tallahassee for a news conference and panel discussion.
"The point of making this film is basically to say that every child deserves a safe education regardless of gender, regardless of race, regardless of sexual orientation or gender expression, for any reason."
Florida passed an anti-bullying law in 2008 that protects students and employees during all public school programs, activities and communications. Legislation has been filed that would expand the law with respect to emotional harm and cyber-related harassment.
