Tallahassee, FL – It's one of many new rules being rolled out of the governor's office, but this one is directed to the Capitol Press Corp. As Florida's Public Radio's Trimmel Gomes reports, Governor Rick Scott's spokesman, Brian Burgess laid out new rules for reporters to follow today.
Burgess told reporters that the days of chasing the governor with questions out of his large conference room into the antechamber that leads to his private sanctum are over. Burgess instructed reporters will remain seated until Scott leaves the room. Here's a reporter asking Scott about the new rules:
"What are your expectations for the press corp. We just had some interesting guidelines laid out for us."
Scott wants a more polished atmosphere in his interactions with the press and the press corps dutifully followed Burgess' instructions and remained politely seated while Scott made his exit to attend other events on his Friday Schedule. Burgess did give the media an "A++" for being so obedient.
