The Crooked River Lighthouse is hosting their Country Farmers Markets every 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturday from 9:00 am-1:00 pm at 1975 Hwy 98 West, Carrabelle, FL at the foot of Carrabelle’s lighthouse. The next market will be held on Saturday, February 17 at Crooked River Lighthouse Park.

The open-air Country Market will feature local vendors with locally-made gifts and goodies like farm-fresh produce, grass-fed beef, delicious baked goods including cinnamon rolls, artisan breads, and cookies, plus batch roasted coffee, gorgeous art, handcrafted balms, and handmade goods and craft items.

Guests can also visit the free Keeper’s House Museum to see the new exhibit featuring the historic Fresnel lens and browse inside the Lighthouse Gift Shop for unique, nautical-themed art, jewelry and souvenirs. In addition, visitors have the unique opportunity to climb to the top of the lighthouse for a breathtaking view of the Bay for a small fee.

The Market is actively recruiting new and returning vendors. Vendors may sign up at any time. The cost to be a vendor is $10 a market. ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Dr. Barden Greenfield is a 1985 graduate of Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He became a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC) after completing a non-conforming dental residency in 2010. He has a dental referral specialty practice (Your Pet Dentist) in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Greenfield previously served on the AVDC board for multiple years and was President of the College from 2016-2018. He is currently a Board Member of the Foundation for Veterinary Dentistry. He was the recipient of the prestigious AVDC Peter Emily Service Award in 2017 and AVDC President’s Award for Stewardship in 2020.

Dr. Greenfield is also a veterinary dental educator, lecturing both nationally and internationally.

Brian Mathias is one of three full-time organists for the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square in Salt Lake City. He appears frequently on the Tabernacle Choir’s Music and the Spoken Word radio and television broadcast (currently in its 91st year), and also on Piping Up!, a COVID-19 pandemic-inspired series of noon organ recitals originating from Temple Square and airing live on YouTube and Facebook three days a week. In addition to his frequent performances on Temple Square, he has performed solo recitals in many venues across the United States. This concert is part of Trinity United Methodist Church's Bicentennial celebration and is free and open to the community.

According to the Smithsonian, Jacob Lawrence is the greatest Black artist of the Twentieth Century. Join us to explore three series of prints by Lawrence that capture important chapters in history through his colorful, graphic, and dynamic narrative style. Gadsden Arts’ Dine & Discover Luncheons offer a social space for friends, a catered lunch by Black Fig Catering, and the opportunity for inspiration. These luncheons will take place in the Bates Community Room at the Gadsden Arts Center & Museum, starting at 12pm with a seated luncheon.

Discover the inspiring essence of the Harlem Renaissance with Tom Friedman as he joins you on a trip through the works and lives of five notable artists of the 1920s and 30s vibrant art scene. The Tallahassee Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, in association with the Tallahassee Bach Parley, will present organist Iain Quinn and flutist Karen Large (faculty members at the FSU College of Music) in recital on Saturday, February 17th at 5:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church in downtown Tallahassee. Dr. Quinn will perform works by J. S. Bach, Niels Gade, Charles Tournemire, Max Reger and Iain Quinn; Dr. Large will join him on the Bach work.

The marvelous Casavant pipe organ at Trinity is the perfect instrument for this eclectic program. The suggested donation for this event is $10; all proceeds will benefit the FSU Sacred Music Fund.
