Only Paper Understands is an obedience project. It has taken me years to muster the strength and the courage to put pen to paper and produce what the lord told me I should produce. Only paper understand is my heart and my head on paper. It’s a bit happy, sad, hopeful and sometimes confused. Over the years I have had many paradigm shifts and wore many hats and through the years I have kept journals. So know you get a sneak peek behind the veil of my life and thoughts as I navigated marriage, motherhood, yearning, identity, mental illness and a whole lot more. Talethia O. Edwards is a wife and mother of 8. Talethia is a proud graduate of THE Florida A&M University where she earned her BA degree in English; currently infiltrating the planning field she is soon to be DURP Alum earning her MSP in Urban Planning at Florida State University next spring. Talethia known for her work as a grassroots organizer, advocate, and coalition builder in Tallahassee, where she led her community the Greater Bond Neighborhood in the resident led planning process where they developed the Neighborhood First Plan which was adopted by the City Commission and awarded $6.4M investment from the CRA board. The largest investment in a Tallahassee community of color at the time.
