Four days. Dozens of songwriters. Some of the best little listening rooms, restaurants, bars, parks and waterfront spots on Florida’s Forgotten Coast.

Blast on the Bay returns October 15–18, 2026, for another unforgettable weekend of songs, stories and the people who wrote them.

Each October, songwriters from Nashville and beyond make their way to Port St. Joe for a festival that has become known for something increasingly hard to find: the chance to sit just a few feet away from incredibly talented writers and hear the stories behind the songs.

No giant arena. No seat three hundred yards from the stage.

At Blast on the Bay, you may find yourself sitting in a local pub, on a waterfront patio or under the Florida sky listening to a songwriter explain how a song came together — and then play the version that existed before the rest of the world ever heard it.

For 2026, we’re expecting around 40 songwriters and performers throughout the weekend, including returning Blast favorites and plenty of new faces making their first trip to the Forgotten Coast. This year’s confirmed lineup already includes Kendell Marvel, Tim Buppert, Jason Byrd, Brian White, Jesse Rice, Karen Waldrup, Jimmy Miller, Jeff Silvey, Lauren Spring, Lee Newton and many more — with additional artists still being announced.

Feline Advocates of Leon County (FALC) is excited to bring back our annual fundraiser, For Cats' Sake with a magical theme, The Enchanted Cat! For the festive season, we extend the option for everyone to dress in costume.

We will have live silent auctions, raffles, live artists painting on site, live jazz and other performances. Heavy appetizers catered by Jeri's and Bandit Beans, as well as a cash bar available.

$25 per ticket or $45 per couple

Have a field day with us to raise money for pancreatic cancer research and awareness here in our community. Live music, beer garden, food trucks & family-friendly games. The 10th annual Field Day Music Fest benefits the Judy Field Memorial Foundation and will feature music by JJ Grey & Mofro and Tishamingo.
Bring your blanket and chairs to the perfect spot and enjoy the live music, or purchase tickets to the VIP tent, which includes a full dinner, bar and covered seating areas!
If you're in the mood for a quick bite, visit our food truck court and finish off your feast with a beer from the Beer Garden, featuring local Lake Tribe Brewing.
Join in the field games such as giant Jenga and cornhole, stroll around the farm or capture the perfect photo in the photo bus.

Come walk, connect, and explore more of the creativity found throughout Tallahassee.

This one-hour walking tour will begin at Argonaut Coffee by Cascades Park. Along the way, participants will discover public art, learn more about the places that help shape our community, and hear about upcoming improvement projects.

Parking is available in the Cascades parking garage and along nearby streets.

The Florida A&M University Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery invites you to experience our new art exhibition, "Marilyn Proctor-Givens: Exploration of a Process." This exhibition will feature a collection of works by celebrated artist and art educator Marilyn Proctor-Givens. Proctor-Givens’ featured artwork spans four decades and showcases her exploration of media and processes, including graphic design, photography, glass, wood, fabric, leather, filament, and ceramics. Her ceramic forms use both traditional and Raku firing techniques, bringing together traditional ceramic forms like vessels and platters and her trademark sculptural forms, including distinctive haloed masks and jigsaw puzzle pieces embossed forms. Many of Proctor-Givens’ works draw upon family, culture, religion, and travel. Through her hand, many techniques, materials, and processes are presented, revealing the connections made with people, places and things.

Step into the shadows of Leon County’s past with local historian and storyteller, Stephanie Chandler to uncover the history behind its most enduring ghost stories. Hear about the real events and people that inspired ghost tales passed down through generations. Drawing on eyewitness accounts, local folklore, and historical research, participants will learn how these stories preserve collective memory while revealing the struggles, tragedies, and transformations that shaped Leon County’s past. Leon County will host the 29th Annual Volunteer Fire Truck Round-Up on Saturday, October 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tom Brown Park by the dog park near Lake Leon.

This FREE event highlights the service and dedication of Leon County’s volunteer firefighters by inviting the community to enjoy interactive touch-a-truck displays and meet the firefighters. The event will also include fun, family-friendly activities, including face painting, bounce houses, giveaways, and more!

At 11 a.m., we will announce the Jack Harron Volunteer of the Year for service above self. Chief Harron served 17 years as fire chief and helped create the annual Volunteer Fire Truck Round-Up.

Visitors to Carrabelle can check out some fascinating history this October at the Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum with a special exhibit on Operation Torch, the Allied campaign in North Africa that served as a critical testing ground for amphibious landings and armored warfare tactics that would later be employed during the Normandy Invasion. The exhibit will be on display Tuesday, October 6 through Saturday, October 31, with the museum open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm. Admission is free, with donations gladly accepted.

The exhibit features historic photographs, maps, and authentic artifacts from the North African campaign, including weapons, currency, and helmets. A special highlight is a Top Secret copy of the operational plans for Operation Husky, the Allied invasion of Sicily, prepared in Tunisia during the final days of Operation Torch. Visitors can also discover Camp Gordon Johnston's own connection to Operation Torch, when the camp's 61st Medical Battalion deployed with the First Engineer Special Brigade.

Located at 1873 Hwy 98 West, directly across from Carrabelle Beach, where beach assault training took place in 1942–1943, the Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum offers visitors a chance to see history up close while exploring one of Carrabelle's unique local attractions.

Coming to Carrabelle This December: Visitors will have another opportunity to explore history when the Freedom Truck mobile museum rolls into Camp Gordon Johnston December 3–6. This national mobile museum offers an interactive experience designed for all ages, making it another unique attraction for visitors planning a trip to Carrabelle this winter. Save the date!
