Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID JR. is playing at 650 Trojan Trail on March 4th & 6th, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. The
70-minute musical is based on the 2008 Broadway production and the 1989 animated feature film.
The cast contains approximately forty students led by Director Bryan F. Mitchell.

This classic Disney title contains all the songs from the Academy Award® winning animated feature
film as well as three new songs from the Broadway show. THE LITTLE MERMAID JR. takes place in a
magical kingdom beneath the sea, where a beautiful young mermaid named Ariel longs to leave
her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father, the king of the
sea, escape the clutches of an evil sea witch and convince a prince that she’s the girl with the
perfect voice.

To mark the closing of the HOMO SARGASSUM Exhibition at FSU’s Museum of Fine Arts, and in collaboration with the Winthrop-King Institute For Contemporary French & Francophone Studies, this international symposium brings together Artists, Art Professionals, Scientists, and Humanities Scholars to explore the phenomenon of sargassum in the Circum-Caribbean and the ways in which a broad range of artists have engaged with it in their work.

Join FSU's MOFA and Sustainable Campus for an evening of sustainability in the arts! Our panel will feature MOFA's Visitor Engagement Coordinator and Curatorial Assistant Annie Both, Dr. Denise Von Glahn and Doctoral Candidate Anchal Khansili of the School of Music, Professor Ilana Goldman of the School of Dance, Professor Meghan Mick of the Department of Interior Architecture & Design, and Dr. L. Lamar Wilson of the English Department. The panel discussion will take place in the museum's lower floor and will begin at 4:30 Thursday, February 27th. There will be time at the end of the event and after to browse the Homo Sargassum exhibit currently on display. Light refreshments will be provided. Personal cups/water bottles are encouraged to help us reduce waste!

The Crooked River Lighthouse is hosting a special Country Farmers Market and Paint Party with artist Geri Mueller-Savell on Saturday, April 5 at Crooked River Lighthouse Park. The Crooked River Lighthouse is located at 1975 Hwy 98 West, Carrabelle, FL.

The Country Market, held from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm ET, at the foot of Carrabelle's historic lighthouse, is the perfect opportunity to shop for unique items while supporting local vendors, artists, bakers, artisans and crafters. The Market features an ever changing variety of locally sourced and handcrafted goods. Shoppers might find organic farm-fresh produce, mouth watering cinnamon rolls, artisan breads and other baked goods, grass-fed beef, handmade goods and craft items, assorted jellies, stunning art and decor, fresh eggs, batch-roasted coffee, locally handmade jewelry, handcrafted balms and sprays, unique t-shirts and clothing, and homemade hot sauces and salsa.

At this special market, guests are invited to unleash their creativity at a fun and relaxing Paint Party from 12:30-3:30 pm ET with talented artist Geri Mueller-Savell. Supplies will be provided, including a 16x20 or 11x14 canvas, apron, paint, and brushes. Geri will give encouraging step-by-step guidance through a featured painting, ensuring that everyone has an enjoyable experience and leaves with their very own masterpiece. No prior experience is needed. The cost is $45 per person, and seating is limited. Advance reservations are required and can be made by calling 448-241-0086.

While at the lighthouse, guests can also explore the free Keeper’s House Museum and Gift Shop from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm ET. The Keeper’s House features fascinating maritime history, including the lighthouse’s original historic Fresnel lens. The Gift Shop is filled with handcrafted items and jewelry to one-of-a-kind nautical and coastal art, souvenirs and keepsakes. For an unforgettable experience, visitors can climb to the top of the lighthouse for a breathtaking panoramic view of St. George Sound for a small fee.

The Country Markets are held every 1st and 3rd Saturdays and are actively recruiting new and returning vendors. Michael Cavanaugh joins the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, in partnership with Opening Nights at FSU, to present the timeless music of Billy Joel!

Michael Cavanaugh is the new voice of the American Rock & Roll Songbook and a charismatic performer and musician made famous for his piano/lead vocals in the Broadway musical “Movin’ Out”. Handpicked by Billy Joel to star in “Movin’ Out”, Cavanaugh evokes a style rivaling the Piano Man. He appeared in the show for three years with over 1,200 performances and received multiple accolades. The show culminated in 2003 with both Grammy and Tony Award nominations. It wasn’t long before symphony orchestras discovered Cavanaugh’s talents and audience appeal. He accepted his first orchestral booking, “Michael Cavanaugh – The Songs of Billy Joel and More,” which debuted in April 2008 with the Indianapolis Symphony and continues to tour today. Recently, Cavanaugh reached the POLLSTAR Live75, the top 75 active touring acts in the country.

How It Works:
This is a free event, but reservations are required. Simply call us at (850)-894-7685 to secure your spot. A minimum of four players is needed to start a game, so if you’re flying solo or short on players, we’ll add you to a waiting list until more participants join.

Timothy A. Barber, Director of Museum Operations for the Meek-Eaton Black Archives Research Center and Museum at Florida A&M University, shares the story of this significant Archive, its diverse collections, and its crucial role in preserving Black American history. This presentation will emphasize the importance of safeguarding primary source materials to ensure the continuity and accuracy of historical narratives for future generations.
