School Crossing Guard Budget Cut

Tallahassee, FL – The Tallahassee Police Department launched the Back-to-School safety blitz today. Heidi Kerr has more on their efforts to keep students safe on the way to school. The police are stepping up traffic enforcement in school zones and around buses to let drivers know school is back in session. This year there are fewer crossing guards due to budget cuts. Officer David McCranie, the Public Information Officer at the Tallahassee Police Department, encourages parents to help their children find a safe route to school.
