We now know why the Republican Party of Florida suddenly postponed its biggest fundraiser of the year yesterday.

The Statesman's Dinner was supposed to happen in less than two weeks in Orlando, but the party said in a tweet that the event will take place later this year.

“I can announce today that on December 7th, the Republican Party of Florida is going to have its annual Statesman’s Dinner, and the keynote speaker for that Statesman’s Dinner will be the president of the United States, Donald J. Trump," said Gov. Ron Desantis. "I think that it will be one of the most successful statesman’s dinners we’ve ever had.”

DeSantis made the announcement Tuesday morning during the annual Associated Press pre-legislative session event at the Capitol.
