Two people are under arrest one remains hospitalized and another is dead after a botched home invasion resulted in severalMadison County schools put on lockdown Wednesday. Two women are charged with armed robbery and charges are pending against a male suspect who is in the hospital. The four entered a home several blocks away from the schools tying up the occupants—a man and a woman. The man was able to break free and get his gun, killing one suspect and injuring another. Then a bystander drove one suspect to the Madison County Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Reggie Alexander is the Madison Police Chief.

“When we got the call, we didn’t know exactly what we had at the time, which prompted us to get the schools, the hospital and the college put on lockdown until we were able to find out what was going on,” Alexander says.

Alexander says when officials first became aware of the incident they were not sure of its exact location. He says officials decided to lock-down North Florida Community College and James Madison High School out of an abundance of caution.
