Tallahassee, Fl – The Labor Day weekend is one of the deadliest holidays when it comes to traffic crashes. Twenty-three people died on Florida's roads last Labor Day and about a third of the deaths were alcohol related. Florida Highway Patrol Major Tim Ashley says there will be no mercy for impaired drivers this weekend.
Drunk drivers can't even avoid arrest by making a run for the border. Law agencies in Alabama and Georgia have joined with their Florida counterparts to beef up enforcement along the state line during the holiday period. Other high-priority targets for the patrols will be speeders, aggressive drivers and seat belt violators.
