Bay County Evacuees Asked Not To Return Yet

Little communication is available from Bay County following Hurricane Michael. But as Regan McCarthy reports the message officials are pushing is that those who evacuated should stay put.

Emergency officials are urging Bay County residents who evacuated prior to Hurricane Michael not to try to return just yet. Reports indicate roads remain blocked by power lines and downed trees. Officials indicate the priority will be getting emergency responders into the area. All flights in and out of the North West Florida Beaches airport are canceled through noon on Friday. As statement on the airport’s website says officials are assessing whether to extend that cancellation into the weekend. For those who are in Bay County now, a dawn to dusk curfew is in place.

Franklin and Gulf and Gadsden Counties are also under a curfew.
