More leaked emails from Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman show Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum’s name among the initial list of people considered as a possible running mate.

--

Gillum’s name appears among 37 others sorted according to what Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta calls “food groups”: race, gender and career status- mayors, governors, military and congressmen and women. Gillum is listed in a column along with former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, U.S. Senator Corey Booker and Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, among others.

Also on the initial list is former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Bill and Melinda Gates, General John Allen, and Senators Elizabeth Warren and Kristin Gillibrand.

The email is from March. A spokesman for Gillum says the mayor is not commenting. Gillum has campaigned for Clinton and made a televised speech at the Democratic National Convention. He has long been considered a rising star in the party.
