Former Fla. Gov. Crist Continues Hinting At Potential Party Switch

Former Republican Florida Gov. Charlie Crist is now a regular face at high-profile events for Democrats, especially campaign events for President Obama. But Crist is not making it official that he’s going to switch to the Democratic Party.

Gov. Charlie Crist was seated right behind First Lady Michelle Obama at the final presidential debate at Lynn University. Since coming out with full support for President Obama at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, he’s still trying to dodge the obvious question of whether he's going to switch his party affiliation.

“That’s not what I’m thinking about right now. All I’m thinking about is reelecting this great president, President Barack Obama," Crist said.

When pressed further as to when, or if, he would switch to the Democratic Party, he said, “Well, I don’t think I’d go back. I’d go forward,” Crist said.

And there seems to be no room for going back because the Republican Party is campaigning to denounce the former governor.
