Severe weather is causing school closures and delays

The storms this morning are causing closures and delays for schools in the surrounding area.

  • UPDATE: All Leon County schools are now closed today. Officials are asking any parents with children on campus to begin picking them up.
  • Leon County schools will be open today posted on Facebook that bus pick up for elementary and middle school students will be delayed until the severe weather passes. Officials say they’ll provide more updates on social media and through emails to parents.
  • Tallahassee Community College has announced it will be closed today because of impacts from the storm.
  • Florida State University's Tallahassee campus is closed until further notice.
  • Florida A&M University is closed today because of severe weather.
  • Taylor County Schools are closed today.
  • Liberty County Schools are closed today.
  • Walton County Schools will delay the start of school by three hours.
  • Gulf County Schools in Eastern Time are dismissing at 9:30 a.m. ET and schools in central time zone will be closed today.
  • Okaloosa County Schools are on a three-hour delay.
