Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare has announced a partnership with a Jacksonville provider to expand its treatment of the smallest patients. TMH CEO Mark O’Bryant says the move will allow the healthcare provider to better serve children and infants with greater needs:
“Even though we provide some level of pediatric support for the region, what we realized was that in order to get to the next level, instead of try to reach that level of expertise on our own over time, we thought it would work best to develop a relationship with a niche player in those services that has a national reputation," he said.
Doctors from Wolfson Children’s Specialty Center in Jacksonville will be stationed in Tallahassee. They expect to see children from the area, along with those coming from South Georgia and Alabama. O’Bryant expects Wolfson doctors to work with longtime area pediatric cardiologist Louis St. Petery.
“For the past three years, we have partnered with like-minded, mission-driven organizations that, like Wolfson Children’s, are committed to enhancing access to pediatric care for area children and families," said Michael Aubin, President of Wolfson Children’s Hospital. "With this affiliation agreement with Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare and Tallahassee Primary Care Associates, our fifth Wolfson Children’s Specialty Center will bring pediatric specialists to the region based on identified community needs.”
Wolfson Children’s Specialty Center has other locations in Lake City, Daytona Beach,Fleming Island and Brunswick, Georgia.
