Governor Rick Scott who was originally scheduled to speak at Republican National Convention had canceled all of his events to focus on what was Tropical Storm Isaac. But Scott decided to make a surprise appearance on the final night of the convention.

“I decided a few hours ago," he said. Scott tried to do a bit of catching up by trying to be a gracious host and meeting and shaking hands with guests like Tennessee Congressman John Duncan.

Scott said he came out to to the convention because he wanted to "thank everybody here for coming because we are a big tourism state. Hopefully everyone had a great experience here enjoy their sunshine, know we know how to deal with potential hurricanes  but I want everyone to come back and spend every last dollar they have right here in Florida.”

Scott spent recent days visiting areas hit by the storm before arriving to see Mitt Romney accept his Party’s nomination for President.
