Switching races didn’t appear to hurt veteran Tallahassee City Commissioner Scott Maddox.
The man who dropped out of a hotly contested school superintendent handily won reelection with a 67 percent showing in the non-partisan race for Seat 1.
Maddox pledges to continue doing everything he can to expand air service.
“Right now, our citizens don’t have any options if they want to fly, especially to South Florida. I want to provide them with a low-cost option to fly there.”
Maddox’s closet rival, Bruce Strouble Jr., garnered just 13.7 percent of the vote.
The next closest, Luther Lee, earned 10 slightly more than 10 percent.
