Tallahassee Democratic Representative Alan Williams has qualified for his next campaign: The Leon County Supervisor of Elections.
Williams has served in his seat in the Florida legislature for as long as he’s allowed. Now, he’s setting his sights on becoming the county’s supervisor of elections. William’s campaign announced Monday he’s collected all the petitions required to get his name on the ballot in 2016 and all 1,918 petitions for Williams have been verified. In a statement Williams praises his campaign team for being the first of the election supervisor candidates to meet the mark. Williams is running against Mark Early, a voting systems manager who says he’s been working alongside current elections supervisor Ion Sancho for nearly 25 years. Tena Pate who recently stepped down as chair for the Florida Commission on Offender Review, is also running.
