Democratic Congresswoman Corrine Brown is facing a House Ethics investigation, as well as a Department of Justice probe. Federal officials haven’t made details public, but the director of a charity connected with Brown recently pleaded guilty to fraud.
Friday in Tallahassee Brown was defiant—repeatedly refusing questions while reiterating her innocence.
“My constituents—they’re here,” Brown said. “And you can ask them anything you want to ask them, but rest assured they don’t have any questions for me, because they know me.”
Brown is challenging Florida’s new congressional map, and she chartered three buses for supporters to attend the Friday court hearing.
