Terry Lewis w/ Perceptions of Justice
Terry Lewis w/ Perceptions of Justice
Join us for an evening with Judge Terry Lewis as he discusses his newest book, Perceptions of Justice, an exploration of the American justice system and how we view it in our culture and media.
ABOUT THE BOOK
If Lady Justice is blind, what guides her steps? Is justice, like beauty, in the eye of the beholder? Or are there objective criteria we can apply? What is the relationship between law and justice? Using works of literature, scenes from films, and actual cases as springboards for reflection and debate, Perceptions of Justice provides us with an easy-to-comprehend and entertaining critique of the American justice system. Better yet, it offers readers the opportunity to understand how they determine what is fair and just, why others may see it differently, and how we might effectively address those differences. For a shared sense of justice is part of the glue that holds a society together, and that glue seems to be getting a little thin these days.
