Storytime, STEM & Teen Anti-Valentine Bash at Carrabelle Library

Week of February 9-15 - Programs at Franklin County Public Libraries

The Friends of the Franklin County Public Libraries (FFCPL) invite residents and visitors to enjoy free, fun, and educational events for all ages—no library card required! Programs foster creativity, learning, and connection in an inclusive environment. The Library Lovers Scavenger Hunt runs all month at both branches, with clues and riddles leading to prizes.

Storytime at the Libraries
The popular Storytime program introduces young children to books, rhymes, music, and engaging activities designed to spark a love of reading. This month’s book, Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney followed by a Valentine’s Day Craft. This book tells the story of Little Nutbrown Hare who demonstrates how much he loves his father and Big Nutbrown Hare who gently shows him that the love is returned even more. This program is best suited for those 2-6 years old.

STEM Space: Aluminum Foil Boats
STEM Space at the library provides an interactive environment for exploring Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. In February, participants will get to make Aluminum Foil Boats, an engaging way to explore basic scientific concepts and have fun with a hands-on activity. This event is best suited for those ages 8-12 years old.

Teen Anti-Valentine’s Day Bash
Teens can embrace their inner cynic at the Teen Anti-Valentine’s Day Bash, an event filled with fun and irreverent activities. Participants can showcase their vocal talents during Break Up Song Karaoke, unleash their creativity with DIY Sarcastic Valentine’s Day Cards, and test their knowledge with a Trivia Game about the worst love stories and most epic breakups in pop culture and literature. This event offers teens laughter, creativity, and a lighthearted celebration of anti-romance fun.
