Join us Friday, December 13th for a fun community contra dance! This last dance of the year will feature Knoxville caller Deanna Palumbo and special lighting and pop music mixing by Asheville’s DJ TacoShel.

Tallahassee community contra dances continue in the Senior Center Ballroom on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of most months! Contra dancing is an upbeat, beginner-friendly American folk dance for all ages. It shares many moves with square dancing (such as swing your partner and do-si-do) and is danced in long lines to live music. The bands and callers vary each night. Come alone or bring friends–no partner or experience required! Those new to contra dancing are strongly encouraged to come by 7:15 when a Beginner Lesson will be taught, and as dances are taught in more detail early in the evening. Wear comfortable clothes and flat shoes.
