The Leon County Sustainable Communities Summit Series continues with the Lake Carr Invasives Shoreline Cleanup on Saturday, September 28 at 9 a.m. Citizens will work alongside the Office of Sustainability to remove aquatic invasive species from the shoreline and shallow waters of Lake Carr at Cedar Hill Landing in an effort to keep the lake and surrounding ecosystems safe and healthy.

The event will include an informational presentation from County staff on local aquatic invasive species and guidance on how and what plants should be removed from the area. Buckets, gloves, and shovels will be available. Attendees should dress in comfortable clothes and close-toed shoes. Refreshments will be provided before beginning removal activities.
