Jazz great Wynton Marsalis has hailed Jacksonville native and FSU professor Marcus Roberts as "the genius of modern piano". This campaign season the critically acclaimed jazz pianist and composer was struck by the diverse voices and perspectives of the candidates.

Roberts says this year’s presidential hopefuls aren’t giving American culture its due. So he took matters into his own hands, and drafted those candidates into the country’s signature art form: jazz. Here’s a profile of Roberts’ album Race For The White House.

As a Tallahassee native, Kate Payne grew up listening to WFSU. She loves being part of a station that had such an impact on her.
