The Man with the Heart of Radio
“What an impact radio has made on my country and even the world. As I compare it with TV, I still think it is the premier medium. If you give people the facts, they can take it from there”
Jim Kirk
The radio first became popular to Americans in the 1920’s. Since then the radio has been steadily evolving both technologically and physically. Our collections of antiques, which include televisions, microphones and other sound equipment, display a unique beauty and an incredible variety in design and style. These antiques also allow us to look back and appreciate a part of the history of communications technology that stands as one of the most significant inventions of all times. Visitors are welcome to view this collection at WFSU Monday through Friday from8:00am to 5:00pm or by appointment.
