A former Florida State Seminole football player has joined a new team. Philip Browning, who played for Bobby Bowden starting in the 2005 season, is the new Director of Business Development for the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce. Browning says he'll help expand the Chamber's membership and influence beyond its traditional Leon County base.

"We've got such tremendous resources in the region that can lend a helping hand and assist in attracting new businesses. But also in supporting our existing business members who may be looking to scale and are in a growth phase and looking for a new base to continue their operations."

As to his first project in the new role, Browning says he plans to meet as many people as possible in the region.

Browning was previously the vice president of sales for Synchros, formerly North Florida Payroll. He's been deeply involved with the Chamber since then, including the Access Tallahassee program.
