The historic 130-year-old Henry Beadel house at Tall Timbers north of Tallahassee has been reduced to ash.The Tallahassee Fire Department says the unoccupied dwelling was apparently hit by lightning just after 7 Monday morning. The blaze quickly spread throughout the structure, which finally collapsed. Fire fighters were able to save several historic antiques and artifacts that were inside the building. The home, on the Tall Timbers Plantation property, was built in 1895.
