While all eyes were on Irma, some officials took the time to remember those killed in the September 11th terrorist attacks.

Monday marked the anniversary of what Attorney General Pam Bondi calls “the worst terrorist attack in the U.S.”

On that day, 16 years ago, four hijacked planes hit the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a Pennsylvania field—killing about 3,000 people.

In a statement, Bondi said she will never forget the sacrifices made that day—not only by the thousands of innocents who lost their lives, but the “brave first responders who gave their lives to save others.”
