Tallahassee Police Seek 'Vehicle Of Interest' In Professor's Homicide Case

Tallahassee Police have released a photograph of what they’re calling a “vehicle of interest” in the death of FSU law professor Daniel Markel. He was shot in his Trescott Drive home on Friday.

The car in the photo looks similar to a silver Toyota Prius and was captured on surveillance video Friday morning.

TPD spokesman Dave Northway stresses the vehicle does not necessarily belong to a suspect.

“We were able to capture it on video and were wondering if possibly this person may be a witness to this crime," Northway says. "The person may have just been a delivery driver in the area or may have just been a resident.”

Police encourage anyone with surveillance video of the Betton Hills neighborhood from mid-morning Friday to call their tip line. The department has received more than 50 tips by phone so far.
