A local car restoration company is being showcased on the Discovery Channel. The show “Trans Am” premiers tonight at 10.

The show features brothers Scott and Todd Warmack as they restore the legendary car that first gained prominence with Tallahassee legend Burt Reynolds and “Smokey and the Bandit.” Todd Warmack spoke to WFSU-TV for a segment on the show “Local Routes” in 2016.

“We have four different Trans Am Models starting with the base model, that we call 7T7 patterned after, 1977, the year the car moved in the movie, Smokey the bandit," Todd Warmack explained to WFSU TV's Mike Plummer as they walked through the company's production facility at the time.

The Warmack brothers acquired the rights to build and restore the cars from General Motors. Two years ago they were approached by a production company for a show called “Family Fueled”.
