Post-storm SBA Loan Deadline Nears

WFSU.org

Federal Small Business Administration loans are still available to area victims of Hurricane Michael. But the time to apply for that help is running out.

The SBA’s Mary Regan said not only businesses, but also private non-profits and even Leon County residents suffering personal storm loss can apply for the low-interest loans.

“Twelve-hundred homes had some type of damage and there were some businesses as well, so if you’re a business and a tree fell down and blocked people from getting to your business and you can prove economic injury, we have that type of disaster loan as well,” she explained.

Regan added there are several ways to apply.

“If you want to go in-person the nearest place would be the Leon Public Library. They’re now 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday. They can either go to the Center in person or jump online, which is: www.disasterloan.sba.gov. Then we have an 800 number: 800-659-2955.”

Regan stressed that the application deadline is December 10th.
