A tree fell across Apalachee Parkway and Blairstone.

Wind gusts of up to 55 mph downed trees and power lines and cut service to 30,000 Tallahassee customers on Sunday.

As of 6:30 a.m., the city was reporting that power had been restored to more than 23,000 customers. Northeastern portions of the city were hardest hit, according to a written release.

Crews from Jacksonville and Central Florida have been called in to help. No word yet on when power will be restored.

Fewer than 7,000 customers remain without power in the hardest hit areas of the city. Miccosukee Road from Fleischmann to Dempsey Mayo continue to be cleared of debris. Indianhead Acres, and Riggins Road neighborhoods were some of the hardest hit.

Tallahassee Community College will remain closed until noon due to a power outage.
