On Saturday, actress and model Gabrielle Union visited Florida A&M University to talk to students about President Barack Obama. Union said she believes in everyone getting an equal chance and she doesn’t trust former Governor Mitt Romney because he did not go through the same hardships that she and many of the students have gone through.

“I was a student like you guys, I relied on pell grants and student loans. And Barack Obama, also stood in line at the student aid office, the financial aid office. He also worked his way through college. He understands what we’re going through. He understands the importance of pell grants and keeping student loan interest rates down.” Union said.

State Representative Alan Williams and Congressional candidate Al Lawson also spoke at the event about the importance of voting in local elections. And Obama for America volunteers asked FAMU students to sign up and help canvass.
