Former state Rep. and 2018 contender for agriculture commissioner candidate Baxter Troutman has been arrested for aggravated battery. Officers booked Troutman into jail early Saturday morning.

Polk County sheriff deputies arrested Troutman after an argument with his wife Rebecca escalated. She wanted to buy a house in her name.

The police report lists two other domestic abuse instances in 2018 and 2015.

Troutman was previously charged with domestic violence against his wife in 2012. He is currently facing one aggravated battery and two battery charges
