Former FSU Attorney And A House Clerk Arrested For Soliciting Minors

A now-former Florida State University lawyer and a clerk for the House of Representatives have been arrested for crimes of solicitation related to juveniles. The back-to-back arrests come just days apart.

On Sunday Florida House clerk Michael Chmielewski was arrested for soliciting an undercover officer online that investigators say he thought was a 14-year-old girl. He was caught after traveling to meet her and has been charged with two counts of obscene communication. He was fired from his job in the House of Representatives Wednesday.

On Tuesday, now-former Florida State University attorney Dayton “Michael” Cramer was arrested—also for soliciting a minor online. He was caught by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security after sending sexually explicit responses to a fake ad posted by who he thought was the step-mother of a 13-year-old girl.

He resigned from FSU before he could be fired and is being charged with attempted enticement of a minor.
