The Florida Constitution Revision Commission held its first meeting Monday. House Speaker Richard Corcoran gave the group some friendly advice.
“As you guys get into the constitution, which is a sacred document, my first word of encouragement is sometimes it’s what you don’t do which is more important than what you do do. And try not to do any harm to that document would be one of my first words of encouragement,” Corcoran says.
Commission members also heard from Senate President Joe Negron and Governor Rick Scott as well Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Jorge Labarga who also administered the oath of office for the group.
