Edison Restaurant Draws Pre-opening Raves

Tom Flanigan

Tallahassee’s Edison Restaurant has held a series of pre-opening parties this week to give select audiences a sneak peek of the city’s newest upscale eatery.  Hundreds of people have been showing up for the invitation-only previews that began Sunday night.

Among those at Tuesday evening’s event, Downtown Improvement Authority Executive Director Jay Revell.

“It’s everything I think the community hoped for,” he said.  “It’s a great asset and to see it turned into a thriving business here is just going to be cool.”

Also on hand, Visit Tallahassee Executive Director Lee Daniel.

“I think it’s spectacular!” he said.  “I’m so excited about what they’ve done to this wonderful, historic building.  It’s absolutely beautiful!”

Perhaps happiest of all was the Edison’s Executive Chef John Minas.

“Rosewater pink lemonade in everyone’s hand; hot arancini and tuna tartares going around, people having a blast.  The lightbulbs and everything exactly as I wanted; I’m so happy!” he literally gushed.

Minas said the establishment should be open to everyone this coming Sunday (9/20/15).
