Tallahassee, FL – The country's largest state-run folk music festival will take place this weekend about ninety minutes east of Tallahassee. The Florida Folk Festival in White Springs will feature hundreds of performers between Friday and Sunday, including country stars Mel Tillis and Billy Dean. Also taking the stage will be local musician Del Suggs, who says visitors will find cuisine from around the state and plenty of arts and crafts.
"Everything you can possibly imagine, from basket weaving to painting incredible jewelry to, you can actually buy folk musical instruments there, amazing pottery and ceramic work, just a real diversity of stuff."
Suggs says the festival is also an opportunity to learn about Florida's heritage.
Tickets at the gate cost $25 for one day or $50 for all three days.
The Festival is held at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park, 11016 Lillian Saunders Drive, just off U.S. 41 in White Springs.
