The city of Thomasville, Georgia, is inviting holiday shoppers to visit on the day after Black Friday. Locally owned stores are already prepping for the Small Business Saturday event.

Two days after Turkey leftovers are bagged up, Small Business Saturday in Thomasville will give shoppers the chance to cross items off their gift lists—or, as Fuzzy Goat yarn store owner Cadence Kidwell says, “They could still get started on something that they could make for somebody that they love."

Kidwell recently opened the Fuzzy Goat yarn shop downtown. She says people often stumble in expecting something else, “And by the time they’ve taken a turn around the store, they’re like, ‘I want to learn how to do this," because of the way we’ve renovated the store in a really whimsical and playful way.”

Shoppers will get a stamp on a passport for every shop where they make a purchase. And completed passports can be entered in a drawing to win “Downtown Dollars.”

Thomasville Main Street and Tourism Executive Director Karen Smith says people making six or more purchases can win 200 Dowtown Dollars.

“And I have to tell you, our Downtown Dollar program is really popular. Folks love to get those things because you can shop and dine at over 75 locations in our downtown," she says.

Small Business Saturday is November 29.
