Tallahassee’s Cascades Park is a great place in Florida—that’s according to the American Planning Association. The park received the recognition Thursday. The park is referred to as “the crown jewel of Florida’s capital city.” Tallahassee City Commissioner Gil Ziffer says the award demonstrates the good planning behind the park which serves as both a recreation space, as well as a storm water facility.
"We’re pleased with it, because it’s not only demonstrating what a great place it is to go and have fun and enjoy with your family, but also serves a really good purpose for our community," Ziffer said.
The National Recreation and Parks Association also recognized Cascades in 2015.
