The Leon County Sheriffs Office is investigating after employees of a Tallahassee waste facility found a dead person Wednesday morning. The Leon County Sheriffs office hasn’t released any new information on how a person ended up dead at the trash collection facility on Gum road. A facility employee found the person Wednesday morning around 10:30 a.m. and called 911.

Sheriff’s Spokeswoman Sgt. Melinda McBride says the department’s violent crimes and victim’s units are investigating. She says it may be a while before any more information, including gender, or a name, is released.
