Congresswoman Gwen Graham is inviting Florida Bishop Gregory Parkes to be her honored guest for Pope Francis’ upcoming address to Congress.
Bishop Parkes of the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee says he’s looking forward to the historic papal address, the first ever to a joint session of Congress. Arriving Tuesday, this will be Pope Francis’ first visit to the United States.
Parkes has served as the Bishop of Pensacola-Tallahassee since 2012, following his appointment by Pope Benedict XVI. The Pensacola-Tallahassee Diocese encompasses 18 counties in the Florida Panhandle.
