Tallahassee's yearly Walk to End Alzheimer's is just under a month away.  A supporting fundraiser in advance of that main event took place in a popular local night spot Saturday evening (8/11/15).

"Travelin' Light" was one of three bands cranking out the tunes to a full-house at Midtown's Krewe de Gras.

Also on the bill, "Fried Turkeys" along with "Hal Shows and the Catbirds".  Organizer David Wheeler said the happening was a successful lead-in to the September nineteenth Walk to End Alzheimer's at Cascades Park.

“We’re still recruiting teams and we’re still looking for sponsors,” he said.  “If you’d like to put together a team with your friends, your coworkers, your faith community, your civic group, we would be happy to help organize a team.

All proceeds benefiting the Alzheimer's Association and its programs of research, and advocacy for Alzheimer's patients and caregivers.  Wheeler later said the evening generated more than $1400, not counting the 15% donated from Krewe de Gras’ bar receipts.
